What else can you expect in this program?
👉🏼 The most positive + forward-moving T1D community you will ever be involved in. Risely members come in as clients and leave as family.
👉🏼High levels of accountability. We don't just want you to learn, we want you to actually see the changes you came for, and more.
👉🏼Developing yourself BEYOND the numbers. Most T1D education doesn't support you on the deeper, higher-level transformation required to make sustainable change... we do!
Why You? Why Now?
Â
If you're thinking, "Is now the right time?" know this: there will always be something going on, whether it's a vacation, house renovations, saving up for a wedding, etc. We are looking to enroll T1D women who understand that investing in themselves and prioritizing their diabetes will positively impact their entire lives. Because when our health improves, so does everything else: our relationships, experiences, careers, and, most importantly, ourselves.

Meet The Coaches!

Meet Jehan
Head Coach
Â
After being diagnosed at age 10, Jehan was blessed to grow up in a positive environment with supportive friends and family- even giving her nighttime injections at sleepovers! But like many, she still struggled with the mental load of diabetes, always trying to hide her struggles and put on a happy face for family and friends when inside, Jehan was suffering. Jehan carried these feelings into adulthood, until finally opening up about the mental, physical, and emotional toll diabetes had on her, 24 years later.Â
Before coaching, Jehan worked in the corporate world in HR and training. After a while, she knew she wanted to help people with Type 1 diabetes as a career. After going through Risely’s Group Coaching program, Jehan was inspired to pursue health coaching after her own personal transformation. She is currently working towards her NBHWC.
Jehan’s passions in coaching include, supporting people with diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses, helping fellow moms prioritize their care, and being open and vulnerable with those that love you.Â
She currently lives in Pittsburgh with her husband of over 10 years and their two daughters. Outside of coaching, Jehan enjoys learning new skills in the kitchen, live music, staying active, car sing-alongs and eating al fresco. She hopes to learn Arabic with her daughters someday!

Meet Stacy
Coach
Â
Stacy was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 37; by this time, she had already started a family and established a career path. She found that juggling a new diagnosis, advancing in her career, and raising her children was intensely difficult.
In an effort to better understand how to manage her own T1D, she began studying nutrition and joined Risely's Group Coaching Program. Risely Health strengthened her belief that connecting with coaches and fellow diabetics makes facing health challenges less overwhelming and provides the encouragement we need as T1Ds to thrive.
After receiving a master’s degree in Nutrition, Stacy used her new education and personal experience to start a small catering business to provide healthy meal alternatives for busy professionals. Stacy is now a National Board Certified Health Coach with a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Kansas and an M.S. in Health and Nutrition Education from Hawthorn University.Â
Stacy lives in Loveland, Colorado, where she loves to walk with her pup and do strength training. She is also an HR professional and a Jayhawk! Someday, she plans to hike a 14er.Â

Meet Emily
Coach
After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emily continued her search for her passions. Less than a year after graduating, she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 23. After getting acquainted with others in the diabetes community, she found that the procedures and education provided for adults diagnosed with T1D were far less detailed than for children diagnosed.
In the face of underwhelming support from her healthcare team, she immersed herself in diabetes education materials and resources to learn how to manage her new condition without sacrificing the lifestyle she enjoyed. She formed a new care team with healthcare professionals who better supported her. However, even with guidance from the best in the field, she felt there was still a gap in the system where support was lacking.
Emily added formal education to her independent learning after graduating from a diabetes specialty care company's NBHWC-approved training program. Emily is now a National Board Certified Health Coach. Working as a coach further proved to her the value a coach adds to an individual's health journey when paired to complement other healthcare professionals.
Emily lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with her husband. Outside of coaching, Emily enjoys exercising, cooking, playing board games, and traveling. Emily and her husband are paragliding pilots and spend their free time and vacations exploring different parts of the world. She dreams of visiting the Alps to paraglide where the sport was born.

Meet Megan
Coach
Megan was diagnosed with T1D at age 18 during her sophomore year of college and in the midst of a transformative period in her personal life. Being in college, trying to balance school and a part time job, dealing with personal issues, and handling this new diagnosis was overwhelming and left her feeling burnt out. As time progressed, her relationship with herself and diabetes became really poor leading to an unsustainable lifestyle.
Megan wanted to make an impact in the T1D community and spent years volunteering for the American Diabetes Association. Still, she didn't feel fulfilled and knew she could make more of an impact with this community. Megan fully understood the gaps in the healthcare system and was frustrated that there wasn't more information out there to support people living with T1D. Because of this, she became passionate about supporting people with T1D and finding better access to care and support in managing this diagnosis.
Megan went through the Group Coaching Program with Risely Health. The community at Risely gave her space to acknowledge the struggles she was dealing with and empowered her to navigate through them with more confidence. This mindset shift made her decide to become a Certified Health Coach to help empower other T1Ds. In addition to Health Coaching, Megan is a speech-language pathologist. She lives in central New Jersey with her husband.

Meet Elisabeth
Coach
Â
Elisabeth is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), focusing on holistic healing. She received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology, then went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Nutrition & Dietetics. After graduate school, Elisabeth continued her passion for holistic wellness by enrolling in an herbalism course, which highlights a 'food as medicine' approach. As an RDN, she has extensive knowledge in integrative & functional nutrition, behavioral health, alternative medicine, and the anatomy of movement.Â
Elisabeth's own healing journey led her to this professional path. She was diagnosed with type one diabetes when she was 9 years old. In addition to type one diabetes, Elisabeth has battled a handful of chronic illnesses, including Multiple Sclerosis, PCOS, Lyme Disease, and Eczema. She has worked with countless practitioners and healers to better understand her body's ability to heal and is now providing that support to others. Elisabeth believes in whole body wellness, which emphasizes a connection of mind, body & soul.
In her 3+ years of experience coaching over 100 clients before joining Risely, Elisabeth has grown particularly skilled and passionate about helping people overcome challenges with nutrition, mindset, exercise, hormones, sleep patterns, relationship to food, gut health, autoimmune disorders, and behavioral health.
When she’s not coaching or supporting clients on their health journeys, Elisabeth loves cooking, skiing, exploring new places, meditation, and working out. Elisabeth lives in Stamford, CT with her corgi.

Meet Lindsey
Coach
Â
Lindsey was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on her first trip abroad to Germany at age 12. Though a scary experience for her and her family, it taught her the importance of having a solid support group and fortitude. Being diagnosed as a middle-school-aged girl with no other T1D friends felt isolating, and it took her many years to shed the shame associated with her diagnosis.
At 27, Lindsey took an active charge toward reclaiming her health and sought to make diabetes work for her. After years of gaps in support from her healthcare team, Lindsey joined Risely’s Group Coaching Program. Here, she learned more about the various factors that impact her diabetes and where she began to build her diabetes community. With a renewed outlook on her diagnosis, Lindsey knew she wanted to support others who experienced a similar disconnect with their diabetes management and empower them to have agency over their health.Â
Alongside coaching, Lindsey works as a Public Health Educator for the active-duty military population. She also has prior one-on-one health coaching experiences with Sailors in the fitness and nutrition spaces. She has dedicated her educational and professional careers to building healthy communities and advocating for holistic approaches to wellness. Lindsey is passionate about supporting others and believes that everyone is an expert in their own life. She leads with compassion and curiosity and employs a person-first approach in her coaching.
Lindsey lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with her 10-year-old rat terrier, Kay. She loves to travel, work out at her local gym, spend time outdoors, especially on the beach during the warmer months, and leads a virtual book club. In her free time, you’ll find her reading a murder mystery or singing along to Taylor Swift.

Meet Katarina
Coach
Â
When Katarina was diagnosed with type one diabetes at sixteen years old she felt a lack of support from her health care team. With the support of her parents, she took her management into her own hands. She became confident in understanding and working with her diabetes on a deeper level.
After graduating college with her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Katarina spent 5 years coaching over 500 individuals in both a gym setting and a non-profit health organization.
Her passion for health coaching continued to grow after discovering Lauren on Instagram. She was inspired to obtain her National Board Certification in Health and Wellness Coaching. Advocating for and supporting other type ones on their health journey keeps Katarina motivated to continue expanding her knowledge and coaching skills.Â
Outside of coaching, Katarina loves experimenting with food (particularly fermented foods like kimchi, kombucha, and sourdough), traveling with her husband for his Strongman competitions, growing vegetables and herbs in their hoop house, and venturing out for long runs along Lake Michigan’s scenic trails.

Meet Meghan
Coach
Â
Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Megan was diagnosed with T1D at 26 years old. She didn’t know what T1D was and had never met anybody with T1D. At that time, there were no CGMs, and the first long-acting insulin, Lantus, had just hit the market.
Megan was a very active person prior to her T1D diagnosis. She worked at the San Diego Zoo, managing a conservation education program with the Zoo’s ambassador animals. She loved hiking, being in nature, and scuba diving.
After diagnosis, Megan immersed herself in all of the educational material she could find on adults with T1D and started attending any and all support groups available. She quickly discovered there wasn’t a lot of emotional support, and there was a huge gap in the healthcare system for adults with T1D. Megan was very sensitive to insulin and struggled with low blood sugars frequently, which created anxiety around effectively managing her T1D. While she managed 3 healthy T1D pregnancies (without a CGM!), she spent many years hiding her diabetes from everyone because she didn't want people to see her as a diabetic.
After relocating back to Texas and spending time as a stay-at-home mom, Megan felt called to find a T1D community and get support to improve her management so that she could live the active life she loved with less fear. She found Risely, went through the DCB, and ultimately decided to shift careers and pursue her passion of helping other T1D women as a coach.Â
Megan graduated from UT Austin with a BS in Corporate Communications and an Associate Degree in Spanish. She is also a certified legal mediator and certified Integrated Nutrition and Health coach. Megan has experience as a T1D coach for Dartmouth College. Megan currently lives in the Dallas, Texas area with her husband and three children. Outside of coaching, you can find her spending time outdoors and exploring the trails on horseback as much as possible!

Meet Lauren
Founder
Â
I started this group coaching program in 2018 with the mission of merging community and transformation together. This holistic approach to diabetes management has been so transformative for my life and propelled me into everything you see today. It helped me feel happier in my relationships, in my body, and what’s possible for my future- which is the best part. And it all started with leaning into a deeper relationship with myself.
Everyone’s journey is different, but the process that we’ve figured out works the same: feeling more empowered with your T1D requires you to have a specific combination of tactical work, emotional work, community, and the commitment to prioritize yourself in a way you haven’t been taught to.
The transformations of those who have come through this program speak for themselves. We're here to help, and it is my #1 goal to make you feel confident and empowered, in every part of your life.Â
